Section 3 - Configuration
The router has the ability to filter packets based on specific characteristics of Ethernet frames. Filters are used to specify interfaces and broad
guidelines, while rules allow very fine, protocol-specific control over packets. Generic Rules look for a particular pattern within any Ethernet frame.
These features are intended for advanced users and network professionals only, and can safely be ignored by most users.
Enable/Disable Packet Filter

Packet Filter:

Check this box to enable the packet filter.
Click Apply to save your settings.
Filters
Index:
Indicates the index of the filter.
Name:
Indicates the user assigned name of the filter.
Interface:
Indicates the WAN interface to which the filter applies.
Type:
Indicates whether the filter applies to inbound or outbound
packets.
Default
Indicates the default action - permitting packets or droping
Action:
them.
Action:
Click the pencil ( ) icon to edit the filter, click the trash can icon (
) to delete the filter.
Click Add to add a new filter, described in Packet Filter -- Filters on page <?>.
