5.1 Compile and download
Download
Use the following menu commands to download the respective data to the system.
Menu command
For a CPU with FF Link , you always download the
hardware configuration to HW Config.
PLC > Download to Module
The menu command PLC > Compile and Download
Objects... in the SIMATIC Manager.
In SIMATIC PDM, select the FF Link
Device > Download to Devices
Select the "Object with all subordinate objects and
networks" check box in the "Download to devices"
dialog.
Select the FF device in SIMATIC PDM Device >
Download to devices
Select the "Object with all subordinate objects"
check box in the "Download to devices" dialog.
Note
You can download changes to the automation system in "RUN" mode (CIR). Note the settings
for "Load FF Segment".

You can make settings in the object properties of the FF link in HW Config that are taken into
consideration during an AS download.
Perform the following steps:
1. Open the hardware configuration in SIMATIC Manager.
2. Open the object properties of the FF Link.
