9. Starting Motor
(3) Pinion projection length
Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to
terminal S and negative (-) lead to terminal M. Turn
the switch ON and measure the pinion moving
distance L in the thrust direction.
Perform this test within 10 seconds.

Note: Before measuring the dimension, pull the
pinion out lightly in the direction of the arrow.
If the measured L dimension is outside the standard
range, either insert or remove the dust cover
(adjusting shim 0.5 mm, 0.8 mm) for adjustment.
