Cruise Control

A ny given sp e e d above a p p ro x im a te ly
40 k m /h (25 m ph) can be m aintained
w ith th e c ru is e c o n tro l by op e ra tin g
th e lever.

A c c e le ra te and s e t:
Lift lever b rie fly to s e t speed.
Hold lever up to acce le rate.

D e pre ss lever b rie fly to set speed.
Hold lever do w n to d e celerate.
N orm ally th e veh icle is acce le ra te d to
th e d e sire d sp e e d w ith th e a c c e le ra ­
to r. Speed is se t by b rie fly pu shing
th e lever to p o s itio n 1 o r 2. The a c c e l­
e ra to r can be released.

The sp e e d can be in cre a se d (e.g. fo r
passing) by using th e a c ce le ra to r. A s
so o n as th e a c c e le ra to r is released,
the p re vio u sly se t sp e e d w ill be
resu m ed a u tom atica lly.

de c re a se d s lig h tly, e.g. to ad ap t to
th e tra ffic flo w , hold lever in p o s itio n 1
o r 2 until th e d e s ire d s pe ed is
rea che d, o r b rie fly tip th e c o n tro l lever
in th e a p p ro p ria te d ire c tio n fo r
in cre a se s o r d e cre a s e s in 1 k m /h
(0.6 m ph) in c re m e n ts . W hen th e lever
is released, th e new ly s e t spe ed

To can cel th e c ru is e c o n tro l,
b rie fly push lever to p o s itio n 3.
W hen you s te p on th e bra ke pedal
o r the ve h icle sp e e d fa lls b e lo w
ap p ro x. 40 k m /h (25 m ph ), fo r
exam ple w h en d riving upgra de,
the cru ise c o n tro l w ill be c a n ­
celled.

N o te :
If th e e n gine d o e s n o t brake th e veh i­
cle s u ffic ie n tly w h ile d riv in g on a
d o w n g ra d e , th e sp e e d you set on the
c ru is e c o n tro l m ay be e xce e d e d . As
soo n as th e gra de eases, th e cru ise
c o n tro lle d spe ed w ill again be m ain­
ta in e d as long as the bra kes w e re not
applied.
If the s e t sp e e d w as s u ffic ie n tly
e x c e e d e d su ch th a t the b ra k e s had to
be ap plied , th e c ru is e c o n tro l can be
resu m ed by pulling th e lever to p o s i­
tio n 4.
W arning!
Only use the cruise control if the
traffic and w e a th e r conditions
m ake it advisable to travel a t a
s te ad y speed.
The " R e su m e" function should
only be o p e rate d if th e driver is
fully aw a re of th e previously set
sp eed and w ishes to resum e this
p articu lar p res et speed.
W hen driving w ith th e cruise co n ­
trol, th e transm ission se lecto r
lever m ust not be shifted to posi­
tion " N " as o therw ise the engine
will overrev.
