107840 Series Overview

The 107840 Bluetooth Audio Interface is a small module designed to provide a Bluetooth Audio link to
an aircraft audio system. The unit is available in two configurations:
Bluetooth Audio Receiver (Sink): The device receives a Bluetooth audio stream from a
Bluetooth audio source (i.e. a smartphone or tablet). The audio is decoded and output over an analog
wired connection to an audio amplifier.
Bluetooth Audio Transmitter (Source): The device is used as the source of Bluetooth audio. The
unit receives audio from an analog wired connection, encodes and then streams the audio via A2DP to
a receiver such as wireless Bluetooth headphones.

The device receives BT audio via RF and outputs analog audio
via wire to an amplifier
The device transmits BT audio via RF to a receiver such as BT
Headphones. Analog audio is received via wire from an audio

Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP). Enables stereo
audio streaming for the music player (source) to headphones
or speakers (sink)
Low complexity Sub-band Coding. Provides good audio quality
at medium bit rates while keeping low computational
complexity
A higher quality alternative to SBC codec used in A2DP.
Adopted to many Android platforms but not Apple OSX devices
An AptX codec with low latency, around 40mS vs the normal
delay of around 150mS.
