Troubleshooting

Power Cord not firmly plugged in
Thermal protector activated
Cylinder is not securely seated
Brush Switch turned to "OFF"
Incorrect Height Adjustment
Hose not attached to suction opening
Crack or hole in Hose
Drive Belt broken, worn or off motor pulley
Rotating Floor Brush bristles worn
Rotating Floor Brush jammed
Clog in vacuum
Dirt Container full
Dirt Container or Upper Tank not installed properly
Filters are dirty
Incorrect Height Adjustment
Dirt Container full
Filters missing or installed incorrectly
Dirt Container installed incorrectly
If suggested solutions for this or any function of the Lift-Off do not correct the
problem, call BISSELL Consumer Services.
Remedies
Check electrical plug

Allow cleaner to cool for 30 minutes, see pg. 13

Remedies
Remove Cylinder and replace, making sure that

it "clicks" into place
Make sure Brush Switch is in "ON" position

Remedies
Adjust Powerfoot to correct height setting

Grasp Hose Grip and firmly push onto the base

Check Hose and replace if needed
Reposition or replace Drive Belt, see pg. 11-12

Replace Brush

Remove Brush and clean debris from Brush Ends

Follow instructions on pg. 13 for clearing clogs

Empty Dirt Container

Position correctly and lock in place

Check and clean Upper Tank, Pre-Motor and

Post-Motor Filters

Adjust Powerfoot to correct height setting

Check Upper Tank, Pre-Motor and Post-Motor

Filters for correct installation
Pull out and re-insert Dirt Container correctly

WARNING:
To reduce the risk of injury
from moving parts and/ or
electrical shock, turn Power
Switch OFF and disconnect
plug from electrical outlet
before performing
troubleshooting checks.
