Electronic Flow Control Type 24

The EFC24 is used to control the On Column Injector in combination with Gas or a
Liquid sampling valve.
This EFC type is designed specifically for the On Column injector to support its
various modes of operation. In simple terms it duplicates the behavior of the On
Column manual pneumatics system in that there is an inlet mass flow controller
supplying carrier gas to the injector and a pressure control valve downstream from
the injector which sets the injector pressure. As injector pressure determines the
rate of carrier gas flow through the column, this pressure is monitored close to the
point of injection.
The type EFC24 flow diagram shown below is an indication of the control
mechanism of this type of EFC module.
