Maintenance
Contaminated surfaces restrict the collector performance. Clean the glass surface of the collector regularly with cold
water.
14.3

Maintenance of Tank

Unless agreed otherwise in writing, the tank may only be filled with potable water. Generally, we recommend
having the tank checked and cleaned by authorized installer at least every one year. If water quality is hard,
checking and cleaning should be more frequent at regular intervals.
Ensure the cold water inlet from the overhead tank is closed before draining the water from the solar tank.
Remove the drain plug provided at the bottom of the tank OR Loosen the hose clamp and gently remove the
cold water inlet pipe to the collector to drain the water from the tank
14.4 Procedure for installing Electric Back up heater.
Caution:
Get the Electric heater installed by Qualified Electric contractor
Always use ISI marked electric heaters compatible for solar tanks.
Ensure proper earthing is provided to the electric heater.
14.4.1 Enamel Tank Systems: Provision for fixing the backup electric heater is made in all tanks.
Outer cover
Remove the heater cap located on the hot water outlet side of the tank
Using tubular spanner of 1 ¼" or 52 mm remove the plug.
Insert the heater coil and tighten it. Ensure that there is no leakage through the joints.
14.4.2 Stainless Steel Tank Systems: Remove the 1 ¼" plug provided on the right side of the tank (Below SA Pipe)

Procedure to remove the Sacrificial Anode.
 It is important to check the condition of the sacrificial anode at least once in six months.
 Replace the anode if required to avoid the risk of corrosion inside the tank.
 Use only original spares parts from the manufacturer.
and insert the electric heater.
