Using the Disc Setup
Menus (Disc Setup)
You can adjust HDD/DVD related settings.

Press SYSTEM MENU while the
recorder is in stop mode or during
playback.

Select "Disc Setup" using M/m, and

Disc Settings (Disc
Information)
You can check the disc information and use
the following functions.
Example: When a DVD-RW (VR mode) is
inserted.
1 "Disc Name"
2 "Used Space"/"Remain"
(approximate): Displays used/
remaining time of the disc in current
recording mode (example: SP mode).
3 "Disc Protection": Displays whether
protection is set.
4 "Disc Type"
5 "Format Type": Displays the
recording format.
6 Disc setting buttons
Available settings differ depending on
the disc type.

"Format": Formats a disc. For DVD-
RWs, select a recording format (VR
mode or Video mode) (page 74).
