6 TROUBLE SHOOTING

The Crown Construction Mortar Mixer uses a large heavy-duty drum with mixing elements for combining water,
cement, lime and sand into a mixture for forming mortar. It is a well engineered machine that requires minimum
maintenance.
In the following trouble shooting section, we have listed many of the problems, causes and solutions to the problems
which you may encounter.
If you encounter a problem that is difficult to solve, even after having read through this trouble shooting section,
please contact your authorized dealer, distributor or the factory. Before you call, please have this Operator's Manual
and the serial number from your machine ready.
PROBLEM
Engine won't start.
Motor won't run.
Mixing elements won't turn.
Build-up on drum
walls.
Lumps or chips
in mortar.
CAUSE
No fuel.
Low engine oil.
Cold engine.
Ignition switch off.
Kill switch off.
Engine problem.
Power off.
Overload switch tripped.
No power.
Loose drive belt.
Belt off pulleys.
Wiper gap too
large.
Wipers worn out.
Drum build-up
breaking loose.

SOLUTION
Fill the fuel tank.
Fill the crankcase with oil.
Open choke.
Turn ignition switch on.
Pull kill switch out.
Refer to engine manual.
Turn power on at master panel.
Trip breaker at master panel.
Turn switch on at motor.
Reset overload switch on motor.
Turn power on.
Start engine.
Adjust clutch linkage to tighten drive belt.
Install belt and align pulleys.
Adjust wiper gap to 1/16 to 1/8 inch
(1.5 to 3 mm).
Replace wipers.
Clean build-up from drum
walls and adjust wipers.
