What is a PIR Motion Sensor?
All objects emit energy in the form of invisible infrared radiation. A passive
infrared (PIR) sensor detects movement of infrared-emitting sources within its
field of view. This allows it to sense when an animal passes in front. The term
"passive" refers to the fact that the sensor does not emit radiation but instead
monitors the levels if infrared radiation falling on it. As a result, PIR sensors
are very energy-efficient.
What is new in Version 3?
