No sound or only a quiet sound is
heard when playing back a disc.
• Turn up tile volunlc (p. 42).
• Sound is not output when the LCD screen is
closed. Open the LCD screen.
• When you record sound with [MICREF
LEVEL] (p. 82) set to [LOW], the recorded
sound may be difficult to hear.
• In case of [SMTH SLW REC], you cannot
record sounds during shooting (about 3
seconds).
You cannot play back the disc, or the
disc is not recognized.
• Clean the disc using a soft cloth (p. 104).
• Finalize the disc (p. 46).
• A disc recorded in VR mode cannot be
played hack on a device that does not
suppoll VR mode. Check the compatibility
ill the instruction mamlal of the playback
device.
The playback image is distorted.
• Cleanthe disc usinga soft cloth (p. 104).
"[_j" is indicated on an image in the
DVD menu.
• Loading of the data may have faih:d when
the disc wls finalized. For the following
discs, make the disc capable of additkmal
recording (p. 62), then remake the DVD
menu by finalizing the disc again (p. 49).
The DVD menu may be displayed correctly.

Playback freezes for an instant
between the scenes.

scenes depending on the device being used.
This is not a malfimction.
• In case ofa DVD+R DL, the image may
freeze for an instant when the recording
layer changes. This ixnot a malfimction.
Playback does not move to the
previous scene when you press
I<1<.
• If playback crosses 2 titles made
automatically by your camcorder when
ix pressed, playback may not move to the
previous scene. Select the desired scene
from the menu screen. Refer to the
instructkm manual of the playback device
for further inlbrmation.
Unable to edit.
• Your disc may not hc configured for editing
data.
• There are no images recorded on the disc.
• Unable to edit because of the condition of
the image.
• You cannot edit an image protected on
another device.
• You cannot copy or move the images
between a disc and a "Memory Stick Duo."
Scenes cannot be added in the
Playlist.
• The disc ix full, or tile added scenes exceed
999. Delete unnecessary scenes (p. 54).
• You cannot add still images in the Playlist.
A movie cannot be divided.
• A movie that is too short cannot bc divided.
• A movie protected on another device cannot
be divided.
