    Step 1 Preparing the power supply Connecting to the mains When you use your camcorder for a long time, we recommend that you power it from the mains using the AC power adaptor.     We recommend using Hi8 video cassettes H. If you use standard 8 h tape, be sure to play back the tape on this camcorder.     Viewing the recording on TV Connect your camcorder to your TV or VCR with the A/V connecting cable supplied with your camcorder to watch the playback picture on the TV screen. You can operate the playback control buttons in the same way as when you monitor playback pictures on the LCD screen.

    If your TV or VCR is a monaural type Connect the yellow plug for video and the white plug for audio on both your camcorder and the TV or the VCR (you do not connect the red plug). With this connection, the sound is monaural even on stereo models.

    — Advanced Recording Operations — Photo recording You can record a still picture like a photograph. This mode is useful when you want to record a picture such as a photograph or when you print a picture using a video printer (not supplied). (1) Set the POWER switch to CAMERA.

    Quickly locating a scene using the zero set memory function Your camcorder goes forward or backward to automatically stop at a desired scene having a tape counter value of “0:00:00”. Use the Remote Commander for this operation. Use this function, for example, to view a desired scene later on during playback.
