10-1 for the following
steps.

Cut
a
2'
length of shielded cable (not supplied).
Remove
1"
of the outer
insulation
from
each
cable
end. Tightly
twist
the
shield lead at
each
cable
end and apply
a small
amount
of solder to
hold the
small strands together.
If
necessary, twist
the center
conductor
strands together
and
apply
solder
to
hold
them
together.

Cut
a
13"
length of
hookup
wire
and form
it
into
four loops
as
shown.
Remove
1/4" of
insulation
from
each wire
end.
Then
solder
one end
of the
wire to the inner
lead
of
the
coaxial cable
(S-1
)
and
the other
end
of the
wire to the
shield lead
of
the
cable
{S-1
).
NOTE: You may
use
any
suitable
link,
either
loop
or
coil,
as
a
pickup element
on
the opposite
end
of the
coaxial cable.
The
following
step
is
one
method
of
forming the pickup
element.

Cut
a
10"
length
of
wire.
Form
three loops
in
the
center of the wire as
shown
in
the
Pictorial.
Remove
1/4"
of
insulation
from
each wire
end.
As
in
the previous
step,
connect
the wire
ends
to
the
inner
and
shield leads
of
the
free
end
of
the
coaxial
cable.
This
completes the
step-by-step
assembly of your
Solid-State
Dip
Meter.
