Shooting Issues
Problem
Cannot switch to
shooting mode.
Cannot take
pictures or record
movies.
The camera
cannot focus.
Colored stripes
appear on the
screen when
shooting.

Troubleshooting
Disconnect the USB cable.
When the camera is in playback mode, press the c
button, shutter-release button, or b(e) button.
When menus are displayed, press the d button.
The flash is charging while K is flashing.
Movies cannot be recorded when the camera is
connected to the Charging AC Adapter.
You cannot shoot while connected with an HDMI cable.
Insert a memory card with sufficient free space into the
camera.
The battery is exhausted.
The subject is too close. Try shooting using the Scene
auto selector or Close-up scene mode, or the macro
close-up focus mode.
Incorrect focus mode setting. Check or change the setting. 63
The subject is hard to focus on.
Set AF assist in the setup menu to Auto.
The focus mode is set to E (manual focus).
Turn the camera off and then on again.
Colored stripes may appear when shooting subjects with
repeating patterns (such as window blinds); this is not a
malfunction.
