Setting the display language or
date format
1 Open the Language display.
• Press O → → Phone
Settings → Language
2 Select the item from the
following options and press O.
Display Language: Enables you to
select the language
from Automatic,
Traditional Chinese,
Simplified Chinese,
and English.
Date Format: Enables you to
select from DD/MM/
YYYY, DD.MM.YYYY
or YYYY-MM-DD.

Setting heightened audibility
and better readability (Accessi-
bility)
This function sets the character
size to the largest for situations
such as when you enter phone
numbers, read messages, search
in Phonebook, or browse web
pages. Also, the speaker volume
is set to the highest level so you
can hear the other party's voice
better.
1 Open the Accessibility display.
• Press O → → Phone
Settings → Accessibility
2 Press [Execute] or O.
Selecting network area (Select
Network)
This function enables you to select
the mobile phone network area.
The S103 can roam dual network
areas. So you can use the phone
in the UMTS network area and/or
the GSM network. Making a list of
network operators and editing that
list is also possible. While editing
you can also prioritise the access
order among these operators.

• Press O →
Phone Settings
→ Network Settings

Setting the network area
1 Select Search Mode on the
Network Settings display and
press O.
2 When the current network
mode is displayed, press O.
3 Select Automatic, 3G Pre-
ferred, GSM Only, or PCS
Only and press O.
• If you select 3G Preferred,
the phone always goes to the
UMTS network first.
4 Select Auto or Manual and
press O.
• If you select Manual , you will
always be required to select a
network service operator from
the list. If you select Auto,
selection of network service
operators depends on the
setting in the Set Preferred
(See below).
