Notice for Plug-and-Play Device Users
Plug-and-Play is a new technology that allows the operating system to
automatically recognize a device when the system boots up. However, if
the Plug-and-Play device is connected to the F1U123, it must be
"connected" to the PC when booting up for the operating system to
recognize it. This means that in Diagram "a", the port the Plug-and-Play
device is connected to must be selected, or in Diagram "b", the PC that is
booting up must be selected. Examples of Plug-and-Play devices are
removable-media hard disks, Parallel-to-SCSI adapters, and some brands
of scanners.
Belkin recommends the use of IEEE 1284-compliant cables for maximum
signal transfer and integrity, especially in high-speed EPP and ECP
modes. Below are the three IEEE 1284-compliant cables Belkin
Components manufactures:
•F2A046-XX
•F2A047-XX
•F2A045-XX
The "XX" is the length of cable in feet. Hence, an F2A047-06 is a
6 ft.1.8m cable.
