Hardware Installation The F1U123 Bitronics DataSwitch has three DB25 ports for connecting to the devices and/or computers. Depending on your application, the Bitronics DataSwitch Kit can be used in two different ways: One PC to two parallel port devices Two PCs to one parallel port device Please refer to the figure below for your application. -

Connection file-transfer cables are not wired “straight-through”. In these cables, not all the pins are used, therefore they will not function at all. Belkin’s F2A047-xx cables, such as the one included in this package, are recommended for 100% reliable operation. - Page 7 Therefore, an optional power adapter must be used. We recommend using Belkin part number F5B001-PWR. It is a special 7VDC 200mA power supply, and simply plugs into the power connector on the side of the F1U123 switch.
