Extended
Ethernet
OVERVIEW
SMC's Extended Ethernet (EE) network solution provides
an alternative cost-effective solution for network/
Internet access to multi-unit buildings, or enterprise
environments such as hospitals, universities, and manu-
facturing facilities. Using existing Category 1, 2, or 3
wiring, SMC's Extended Ethernet technology is able to
deliver up to 15Mbps of broadband connection for
distance up to 5,000 feet. SMC's EE solution minimize
the hassles involved in rewiring by delivering both voice
and data access on the same line as Plain Old Telephone
Service (POTS). It is also compatible with ADSL
(asymmetric digital subscriber line). SMC's EE solution is
the best choice for service providers to supply
broadband access with minimal changes to existing
wiring infrastructure.
FEATURES
Easy to deploy: simple PBX configuration and it is ready to use
No power feed required
Facilitates the co-existence of POTS and EE traffic over single pair wiring

TigerAccess EE Splitter.
TigerAccess EE Splitter
SMC's TigerAccess EE Splitter is for Extended Ethernet
solution deployment that involves on-site PBX system. To
ensure that POTS service is never affected by
TigerAccess EE Switch's down time or reconfiguration,
the TigerAccess EE Splitter enables the co-existence of
EE and POTS on the same copper telephone line. The
TigerAccess EE Splitter has six RJ-21 ports: two to
connect between the EE Splitter and EE Switch, two to
connect between the EE Splitter with a PBX, and two to
