Configuring the local network

Network configuration with Windows XP

To integrate a PC with Windows XP into a network that is configured with a Gigaset
SE505 dsl/cable:
1. Configure the network (see below).
2. Select computer names and workgroup (see page 30).
3. Check the network settings and complete the installation procedure (see page 30).
4. Make TCP/IP protocol settings (see page 31).
5. Deactivate the http proxy (see page 34).

Configuring the network

Configuring the network in this case means selecting Internet connection as the
connection method. You can do this with the network wizard.
Select Start – Control Panel.

Select Network and Internet connections.

Now select Set up or modify home network or small office network.

This launches the network wizard.
Skip the welcome screen and the checklist by clicking on Next each time.
