FRONT WHEEL (See Fig_ 34) -
Block up axle secureiy_
Remove axle cover, retaining ring and washers to allow
wheel removal,

Repair tire and reassemble,

Replace washers and snap retaining ring securely in
axle groove.

Replace cover.

REAR WHEEL :

Block rear axle securely.
Remove five (5) hub bolts to allow wheel removal
o
Repair tire and reassemble_ Replace and tighten hub
bolts securely.
TO START ENGINE WITH A WEAK BATTERY
(See Figs. 35 and 36)

AUTION:
Lead-acid batteries generate

gases.
Keep sparks, flame
and smoking materials away from bat-
teries. Always wear eye protection when
around batteries.
If your battery
is too weak to start the engine,
it should
be
recharged°
If "jumper
cables"
are used for emergency
starting,
follow this procedure:

WITH A 12
VOLT
NEGATIVE
GROUNDED
SYSTEM
THE OTHER
VEHICLE
MUST
ALSO
BE A
12 VOLT
NEGATIVE
GROUNDED
SYSTEM.

TO START

JUMPER
CABLES

Connect each end of the RED cable to the POSITIVE
(+) terminal of each battery, taking care not to short
against chassis.
°
Connect one end of the BLACK cable to the NEGA-
TIVE (-) terminal of fully charged battery.
°
Connect the other end of the BLACK cable to a panel
bolt on the left side of the tractor, away from fuel tank
and battery.
TO REMOVE CABLES, REVERSE ORDER -
o
BLACK
cable first from chassis and fully charged
battery°
°
RED cable last from both batter ieso

TO REPLACE
HEADLIGHT
BULB
Raise hood
Pull bulb holder out of the hole in the backside of the
grill°
o
Replace bulb in holder and push bulb holder securely
back into the hole in the backside of the grill
°
Close hood.
iNTERLOCKS
AND RELAYS
Loose or damaged wiring may cause your tractor to run
poorly, stop running, or prevent it from starting.
Check wiring

TO REPLACE
FUSE
Replace with 30 amp automotive-type
plug-in fuse
The
fuse holder is located behind the dash_
TO ADJUST
ATTACHMENT
LIFT SPRING
(See Fig. 37)
While hotding spring bushing with wrench, loosen jam
nut,
°
Turn adjustment bolt clockwise to extend spring and
reduce lift effort (for heavier attachments)°
o
Turn adjustment bolt counterclockwise
(for Iighter at-
tachments).
Retighten jam nut against spring bushing.
IMPORTANT:
DO NOT ADJUST FOR MAXIMUM SPRING
TENSION WHEN USING LIGHT ATTACHMENTS
SUCH
ASAMOWER,
ADJUST LIFT LEVER SPRING TO AID IN
LIFTING ATTACHMENT_ DO NOT OVERPOWER SPRING.
WHEN REMOVING ATTACHMENT, ALWAYS ADJUST TO
SPRING TENSION TO ITS LOWEST POSITION.
