This is accomplished by preventing the engine from starting unless the parking brake is applied and the blades are disengaged. The system also shuts off the engine if the operator removes his foot from the interlock pedal with the mower running and the parking brake not engaged.

The function of the switch should be checked by the operator raising his left foot and disengaging the blade brake;...
