Understanding Aperture
The lower the aperture value, the wider the aperture. The wider the aperture, the more light reaches the
image sensor. Adjusting the aperture value controls the amount of light reaching the image sensor.
Typically, the camcorder adjusts the aperture value in the following cases:
When shooting against the light or when the background is too bright.
When shooting on a reflective natural background such as at the beach or when skiing.
When the background is overly dark (for example, night scenery).
You can also adjust the aperture manually.
When you specify "Aperture: Manual," the iSCENE mode is cancelled, "Super C.Nite" is set to "Off"
automatically, and "Shutter" is set to "Auto" automatically. (Manual Aperture priority)
Minimum available aperture values depend on zoom magnifications. (wide: 1.8, telephoto: 3.3)
