    RDV-1093 DVD Audio/Video Player Standard definition TV monitors should be con- nected with one of three types of video output connections – RCA composite video, S-Video, or Component Video. On standard televisions, the S-Video output provides better picture quality than the composite video output. NOTE: In most systems, only one video connection should be made.

    fit the connector. 12V TRIGGER Connection The RDV-1093 can be activated by a remote 12 volt trigger signal from a Rotel surround processor. The 12V TRIG input accepts any control signal (AC or DC) ranging from 3 volts to 30 volts. When a cable is connected to the input and a trigger signal is present, the DVD player is activated.

    Screen Saver To prevent damage to a TV monitor during prolonged display of a static image, the unit automatically activates a moving ROTEL logo screen saver display after several minutes. The screen saver display is turned off, returning to the previous display, when any front panel or remote button is pressed.

    Remote Control Overview See Figure 2 The RDV-1093 is supplied with an RR-DV98 remote control that duplicates the front-panel functions and provides additional features. Remote Control Batteries Three R03(LR03)/AAA size batteries (supplied) must be installed before the remote can be used.

    RDV-1093 DVD Audio/Video Player SUBTITLE Button Press the SUBTITLE button to select a subtitle language (if available on the disc). NOTE: “Operation not possible” displayed in the status bar indicates that this feature is not available on the current disc. AUDIO Button Press the AUDIO button to select alternate audio tracks (if available on the disc).

    NOTE: The unit can also be activated and put in standby mode based on a control sig- nal (from other Rotel components) at the back panel 12V TRIGGER input. NOTE: To completely power off the RDV-1093 when away from home for a long period of time, unplug the unit from the AC wall outlet.

    RDV-1093 DVD Audio/Video Player Inserting a Disc A disc drawer slides out to accept a disc and retracts for playback. Place the disc in the drawer label-side up and program side down. Make sure the disc is properly centered in the tray. The OPEN/CLOSE button on the front panel or the remote opens or closes the drawer.

    To zoom in, press the ZOOM button on the remote. Each press of the ZOOM button changes the size of the picture: 1.8x, 4x, 8x, and back to normal size. To move the zoomed-in video image, press the CURSOR t/u/p/q buttons in the desired direction.

    RDV-1093 DVD Audio/Video Player Entering a Chapter or Track Number You can directly access a Chapter or Track by entering the number using the GOTO button and the NUMERIC buttons on the remote. Pressing the GOTO button steps through three direct access options: Time, Title, Chapter.

    • On DVD-Video discs, playback stops but repeat mode remains active. To cancel repeat mode, press the REPEAT button repeatedly until the setting is cleared. NOTE: If the Status Bar does appear, RE- PEAT play is not available for the current disc.
