12V TRIGGER Connections The RDV-1060 can be activated by a remote 12 volt trigger signal from a Rotel surround processor. This connection provides an input to receive the 12 volt trigger signal. The trigger input accepts any control signal (AC or DC) ranging from 3 volts to 30 volts. -

RDV-1060 DVD Audio/Video Player Selection Indicators When using specific features during playback (such as Language selection, Time Display, Repeat Mode, etc.), indicators appear in the On-Screen Display showing the current status of that feature as you make changes. : A hand icon is displayed when a but- NOTE ton press is not a valid operation accepted by the unit for the disc you are playing. -

STOP Button Press the STOP button to stop disc playback. PAUSE Button Press the PAUSE button to temporarily sus- pend play or to advance the still picture frame by frame when playback is paused. TRACK Buttons The TRACK buttons skip forward or back to the beginning of the next selection. -

: The unit can also be activated and put NOTE in standby mode based on a control signal (from other Rotel components) at the back panel 12V TRIGGER input. Inserting a Disc A motor-driven disc drawer, located in the center of the RDV-1060, slides out to accept a disc and retracts for playback. -

Playing a Disc After a disc is inserted, press the PLAY/EN- button to start playing the disc from the beginning. If the disc drawer is open, it will close automatically. : Many DVDs either begin playing auto- NOTE matically or display a start-up menu as soon as the disc is inserted. -

RDV-1060 DVD Audio/Video Player Advanced Features The RDV-1060 provides several advanced features for controlling the audio/video con- tent displayed during playback. These include progressive scan, zooming, changing the scene angle on DVD-Video discs, selecting alternate languages for the audio portion of DVD pro- grams, and selecting subtitle languages on DVD programs. -

Selecting Subtitles Some DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, and Video CD/ SVCD discs can display subtitles in various lan- guages during playback. Typically, you select these subtitles with the disc’s setup menus which appear when you insert the disc or which can be accessed during playback by pressing the MENU button. -

MP3 and JPEG files The RDV-1060 can play recorded MP3, VCD, and JPEG files from most CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, and DVD+R discs. These discs, often recorded on computer drives, have a file structure similar to computer discs, with files stored in folders.Selecting files for playback and other features are made using a special Smart Navi menu. -

RDV-1060 DVD Audio/Video Player OUTPUT MODE The RDV-1060 can provide fully decoded 5.1 channel surround signals at the multichannel analog audio outputs. Alternatively, the RDV-1060 can “downmix” the 5.1 surround sound signal to a 2-channel signal for output to a stereo TV or audio system. A third alter- native is downmixed 2-channel output with a virtual surround feature that recreates the sur- round sound spaciousness from two speakers. -
