Getting Started
1. Go outside to an area with a clear view of the sky. No trees or buildings obstructing your line of sight.
2. Fully extend the antenna upwards.
3. To turn on your phone, press and hold down the power button, located below the keypad, until the light on the screen turns on. The
screen will display a short animated sequence that reminds you to rotate and extend the antenna, and shows how to hold the phone for the best
reception.
4. The phone will search for a signal. It may take a few minutes. Once the screen says "Registered" you're ready to make & receive calls.
*** IMPORTANT : To confirm that the phone works properly, you must make a free test call to 00 1 480 752 5105 ***
Calling From the Satellite Phone
• To call a landline/cell phone, dial : 00 > Country Code > Area Code > Phone Number
For example : 00 1 941 955 1020 (Do not include dashes or spaces)
Calling To the Satellite Phone
• To call the sat phone directly from a landline/cell phone, dial : 00 > Satellite Phone Number
For example : 011 8816 1234 5678 (non US/Canada-based phones should use the international dialing prefix 00 instead of 011)
***Calling a sat phone directly is free for the sat phone user but VERY expensive for the caller, who may be billed up to $12/min.
• To call the sat phone using the 2-Stage service, dial : 1 (480) 768-2500, wait for the voice prompt, enter the 12-digit satellite
phone number. The system will connect the call for you.
***Using the 2-stage service, the caller will only be charged for a standard US call and the minutes will be debited from the sat
phone's plan.
Checking Voicemail
1. Press the Envelope key that is located under the Red C key and press OK. When prompted, enter your 12 digit satellite phone number.
2. When you hear the greeting, "You have reached mailbox...", interrupt this by pressing the star key (*).
3. Then enter your voicemail password, which is the last 7 digits of your satellite phone number. *DO NOT CHANGE THIS PASSWORD*
4. Press 1 to listen to your messages.
Sending a Text Message From the Satellite Phone
Creating a text message
1. Press the "Message" icon that looks like an envelope. That will directly go to the Messages menu. Scroll to get to the "Message Editor" and then
press "OK" to select.
2. The cursor is placed in the upper left corner of the editing area. If they're previous messages, the message editor d isplays the contents of the last
message entered.
3. Press and hold the "C" button to clear the entire message editor content, if necessary. Begin composing your message. Enter a letter by pressing
a key as many times as necessary to chose the letters.
Sending a Text to an Email Address
1. Follow the same steps as "Creating Messages". Compose your message, starting with the destination email address, followed by a space, and
then your message. For example : johndoe@domain.com. The maximum length of the entire message is 160.
Sending a Text Message to the Satellite Phone
1. Select "Menu" > "Messages" > "Create Message". Type your message. Maximum of 160 characters
2. Select "Options" > "Send" > "Add". You can select a contact saved from your phone or select "Enter Number" to enter a phone number. Enter
cell phone number. Country code first. Then tap Ok, highlight the number, and tap "Send"
3. Make sure you are at a clear view of the sky to process. Wait until "SMS Message Sent Ok" appears on display.
