Procedure – from planning to initial operation
Step Objective
1 Using either the FB IM308C or the ET 200 handheld,
assign a valid station number to each DP slave which
requires software-driven assignment of a station
number.
2 Test the individual DP slaves with the ET 200
handheld, for example.
3 Connect the individual stations to the bus, following
the correct sequence.
4 Via the AS 511 interface of the programmable
controller, power up the ET 200 distributed I/O
system.

Initial operation of the ET 200 (with S5-95U)

Step Objective
1 Using the ET 200 handheld, assign a valid station
number to each DP slave which requires software-
driven assignment of a station number.
2 Test the individual DP slaves with the ET 200 hand-
held, for example.
3 Connect the individual stations to the bus, following
the correct sequence.
4 Via the AS 511 interface of the programmable control-
ler, power up the ET 200 distributed I/O system.
