I. Service Contract Considerations
The servicing dealer is responsible for the implementation of the POC
program. It is highly recommended that any Service Contract or Service
Contract amendments involving the POC program include the following
provisions:

The customer to maintain an authorized Operator(s) for all shifts where
the POC program will be implemented

A storage location for Operator Replaceable Parts at the customer
location. The storage location should be locked accessible by only the
operator and service technician.

Training:
 Training fees if the servicing dealer decides to charge the customer for
operator training
 Training for new operators and additional Key Operators
 Refresher training for the operator if performance is below a satisfactory
level

Contact protocol between the Key Operator and the service technician

Safety disclaimers to protect the dealer in the event an operator or an
unauthorized user is injured while servicing the machine

Fees should the machine require extensive service due to the action (or
inaction) by the operator or an unauthorized operator

Provisions to protect the servicing dealership by suspending or canceling
the POC program if the agreed provisions for operator activity, parts
usage, maintenance procedures and safety are not adhered to (some
examples are below):
 The operator not performing assigned maintenance properly or at the
recommended service intervals
 Damages to the machine due to unauthorized maintenance/service
 The machine is maintained/serviced by anyone other than the authorized
operator or the servicing dealer Service Technician
 Abuse to the machine(s)
 Abuse of the Operator Replaceable Part inventory (using new parts
prematurely or damaging parts).
 The Key Operator does not use parts supplied by the servicing dealer
(purchased from Canon Aftermarket)
 The customer cannot maintain an authorized operator
