2.3 Position, Bearing Correction

Position correction
There may be some instances where the
chart is not overlaid on the radar picture cor-
rectly. You can compensate for this error by
applying an offset to chart position.
1. Press the [MENU] key to open the main
menu.
2. Press the [8] key twice to select Mark.
3. Press the [5] key twice to select Position
Correction.

Note: "Variation" and correction values
only appear with connection of a magnetic
compass.
4. Press the [2] key to select Yes, and press
the [ENTER/SELECT] key.
5. Press the [3] key to select Delta L/L En-
try, and press the [ENTER/SELECT] key.
The menu disappears and the following
message appears:
6. As the prompt says, use the trackball to
shift chart data.
7. Press the [ENTER/SELECT] key. Control
is returned to the Position Correction
menu.
8. Press the [MENU] key to close the menu.
The offset icon ( ) appears at the bot-
tom of the display.
To remove the offset select No at step 4 in
the above procedure.
Bearing correction
In some cases radar bearing may not match
chart bearing. This can be corrected by off-
setting bearing, automatically or manually.
This feature is useful when no coastline is
displayed; that is, vessel is in mid ocean. A
magnetic compass is required.
1. Press [MENU], [8], [8], [5], [5] to display
the Position Correction menu.
2. Press the [4] key to select Manu., and
press the [ENTER/SELECT] key.
3. Press the [5] key to select Manual Entry,
and press the [ENTER/SELECT] key. The
menu disappears and the following dia-
log appears:
4. As the screen says, use the EBL or VRM
knob to rotate chart data.
