Download problems

8.4.1

Download fails from PC to NCO

If the unit indicates after a download, Bosch ST (or Philips in SW versions 1.3 or lower) or nothing in display,
the following steps needs to be taken;
Disconnect all POF cables form the unit and switch it off/on, check the result.
If you're able to access the NCO via the FTP program, try to make the download again.
If you don't have access, check the settings with the hyper terminal program (Chapter 12)
Open the unit and set dill switch 1 (software version 2.0 or lower, set dill switch 2) on in the main
PCB. Switch the unit OFF and ON and make the download of the MMU.bit and the MIF.bit via
the file transfer application. Switch the unit OFF set the dill switch back, switch the unit ON and
make the whole download again.
8.4.2

Download fails from NCO to an other unit

When a download from NCO to another unit is failed, the following steps needs to be taken;
1. Try to do the download again.
2. Refresh the internet explorer page.
3. Switch the unit off, disconnect all cables and switch the unit on.
4. If the serial number of that unit is missing, look in "undefined" and make the download again.
5. If the serial number is also missing in undefined try the following action;
Place on the main PCB, for example the Network Controller, a jumper on X211.

Make again the download
power off the unit and remove the jumper.
8.4.2.1
Download of a new unit to a software version < 2..0
Units manufactured from week 3 in 2005 can't be downloaded with a software version lower than 2.0
Incase of an expansion of a system using a software version lower than 2.0 the system needs to be upgraded.
8.5

Network Controller related problems

8.5.1

NCO: TCP/IP settings in Display show "n.a":

Disconnect the POF cables, reset the NCO via the mains switch, wait a minute and switch the unit on.
If the settings are not resolved follow the HyperTerminal document (chapter 19) to check and resolve
the settings. (See also 8.5.3)
8.5.2

NCO: No access to the NCO via File transfer application;

See the Instructions For Use for the correct Computer settings.
Use the "ping" command to check if you have contact with the NCO.
Via the windows (left bottom page) "start" select "run" and fill in "cmd".
Press ok. (Now you see the dos prompt) fill in "ping and the ip address of the NCO.
For example "ping 190.147.128.37"
If you receive a "time out" message replace or test the (cross) cable.
New NCO's are delivered without software. To access them for the first time use the passwords;
"target and password". After the software upgrade "admin and admin" can be used again.
8.5.3

NCO: Battery removed from the PCB with no power.

When the battery is replaced without the power switched on, all Bios settings are lost.
These can be set back with the following actions:
Connect an RS232 cable to the NCO and start up the HyperTerminal program (see chapter 12)
Set all settings back as mentioned in the instructions of the HyperTerminal document.
Power down and up the unit. Now you time and date will be wrong.
