Upper Case Assembly
(Time required: About 10 minutes)

Fully open the keyboard cover until it is placed
upside down and away from you. (Fig. 4)

Remove the twenty-seven (27) screws marked [29]
and four (4) screws marked [30] from the bottom of
the main unit. (Fig. 5)

Hold the front portions close to the both extremities
(portions "A" in Fig. 6) of the upper case assembly
with your hands and lift it to open it. While opening
the upper case assembly, put the three (3) bosses
of the upper case assembly on the cushions at
keybed side as marked "B" in Fig. 6 respectively so
that the upper case assembly may not slip down.

The upper case section and the keybed section
are connected with the connector assemblies.
When opening the upper case assembly, pay
attention not to damage the connector
assemblies.

While holding the upper case assembly with one
hand, remove the two (2) screws marked [21A] and
disconnect the connector assemblies connecting the
upper case section and keybed section at both ends.
The upper case assembly can then be removed.

To remove the upper case assembly in the U
model, remove the three (3) screws marked
[103A], two (2) screws marked [103B] and PS
unit cover and disconnect the connector
assemblies. (Fig. 7)

Lay a soft cloth on the ground and put the
removed upper case assembly on it upside
down carefully.
