NOTE: This unit is shipped without gasoline or
oil in the engine. Fill up with gasoline and oil
as instructed in the Engine Operator's Manual
BEFORE operating your mower.
Handle
1.
Turn the cam lever to release the handle
from the folding position for storge. See
Figure 3-1.
2.
Pivot the upper handle into the operating
position. Turn the cam lever to lock the
upper handle. See Figure 3-1.

Starter Rope
1.
Disconnect the spark plug boot from the
spark plug (refer to the Engine Operator's
Manual).
2.
Pivot the control handle against the upper
handle and pull the rope out of the engine.
3.
Loop the rope through the eye bolt. See
Figure 3-2.
4.
Tighten the eye bolt to the handle using
the lock nut. DO NOT overtighten.

Grass Catcher
1.
Follow steps below to assemble the grass
catcher.

Follow steps below to attach the grass
catcher.
NOTE: Your mower may be shipped as a
mulcher. Remove the mulch plug before
attaching the grass catcher.

To remove grass catcher, lift rear discharge
door on the mower. Lift grass catcher up
discharge door to allow it to close rear
opening of mower.
One Mulch Plug
One Battery Charger †
Push the handle into top channel
of upper catcher.
Install bottom catcher into upper
clips.
Tighten the screws. See Fig 3-3.

Lift rear discharge door.
Place grass catcher hooks onto the
slots to ensure they sit in place as
shown in Figure 3-4. Let go of
discharge door so that it rests on
the grass catcher.

Installing the Mulch Plug
1.
With the engine stopped, lift rear discharge
door.
2.
Insert the long right hand side of the mulch
See Fig. 3-6.

Guide the mulch plug in and seat down on
the rear ramp. See Figure 3-7.

Removing the Mulch Plug
1.
With the engine stopped, lift rear discharge
door.
2.
Grasp the handle and lift the mulch plug
over the rear ramp.
3.
Guide the mulch plug out by rotating and
pulling until clear of the mower.
