Friction Disc Adjustment
REMOVE BOLT
LOOSEN BOLT
TRACK CONNECTING ROD
FIGURE 26
1. Remove bottom panel. (Figure 26)
2. Position gear select lever in 6th gear.
3. Note position of friction disc on disc drive plate. It
should contact the stop on the right hand side.
(Figure 27)
If adjustment is required, proceed as follows:

Loosen jam nut "A" on speed select rod. Remove ball
joint from shifter bracket, lengthen or shorten rod to
obtain correct friction wheel position. (Figure 28)
Replace ball joint, tighten jam nut.
Replace bottom panel.

Friction Disc Replacement (Figure 29)
Remove gas from gas tank.
Disconnect spark plug wire.
Stand snowblower up on auger end.
Disconnect right side track connecting rod. (Figure 26)
Rotate track till parallel to ground.
Remove three fasteners securing friction disc to hub.
Move speed select lever into first gear.
Loosen four #10 keps nuts securing bearing plate. DO
NOT REMOVE NUTS.
NO TE: Reassembly will be easier if a piece of tape is
placed over each of the carriage bolt heads on the inside
of motor mount before nuts are removed.
Move speed select lever into sixth gear.
Remove four #10 keps nuts.
Remove bearing plate.
Slide hex shaft to the right till friction disc can be re
moved.
Install new friction disc loose on hex shaft. (Figure 29A)
Reinstall removed parts in reverse order of removal.
