Belt Replacement
Auger Drive Belt
Disconnect spark plug wire.
Remove belt cover.
Remove belt from auger drive engine pulley. Have
someone engage auger drive clutch.
This will pull the brake assembly away from the pulley
and allow the belt to be slipped out.
Install replacement belt.
Release auger drive clutch.
Position drive belt on auger drive engine pulley.
Adjust drive belt (see belt adjustment).
When drive belt is properly adjusted, check position of
belt guides and adjust if necessary.

Traction Drive Belt
Remove spark plug wire.
Remove belt cover.
Loosen LH belt guide mounting screw and move belt
guide aside.
Pull traction idler pulley back and slip belt past idler
pulley.
Remove belt from engine pulley.
Remove belt between large pulleys.
Install new belt in reverse order. Adjust LH belt guide and
tighten mounting screw (see Belt Guide Adjustment).
Replace belt cover.
Belt Guide Adjustment
Have someone engage auger drive.
Measure the distance between the belt guides and belt.
The distance should be 3/32 inch for both guides.
If adjustment is necessary, loosen mounting bolts. Move
belt guides to the correct position. Tighten mounting
nuts.
Replace belt cover.

Cable Adjustment - Drive Traction
And Auger
Whenever belts are adjusted or replaced the cables will
need to be adjusted.
Unhook 'Z' fitting at clutch lever, move clutch lever to the
full forward position (just contacting plastic bumper).
Note position of fitting to hole in clutch lever.
The centre of the T fitting should be between the centre
and top of the hole in the clutch lever.
If Adjustment Is Necessary
Push cable through spring to expose the threaded por
tion of the cable.
Hold squared end of threaded portion with pliers and
adjust lock nut in or out. Pull cable back through spring
and connect cable.
