MAINTENANCE
The TPX Series UPS is not designed for field-level service. All repairs will be done at the
Depot-level.
All Toshiba UPS Systems function with a minimal amount of maintenance. Changing the
batteries at the recommended intervals will help ensure the full life of the battery and
reduced chance of failure.
The most critical issues affecting UPS reliability are environmental issues. Ensure that the
temperature and humidity are always according to specifications and keep the area around
the unit clean and dust free.
The backup batteries will degrade with time. The rate of degradation, or wearing out, is
affected by the environment and usage in backup mode. Check the back-up battery at
regular intervals of 6 to 12 months to determine whether the back-up time of the battery is
adequate for its intended purpose.
Keep the unit clean and vacuum the ventilation intake periodically.
Wipe with soft loose and damp cloth.
Check for loose or bad connections periodically.
Never leave the unit on an uneven surface.
Avoid direct sunlight, rain and high humidity.
Stay away from fire and extremely hot locations.
Do not stack materials on top of the unit.
The unit should not be exposed to corrosive air.
