1 VPN Tunnel Management
The MPLS TE tunnel interface view is displayed.
Step 3 Run:
mpls te reserved-for-binding
The VPN binding feature is enabled on the tunnel.
A tunnel can be used by VPNs only after the VPN binding feature is enabled. The tunnel policy
configured with the tunnel select-seq command cannot be applied to the tunnel enabled with
the VPN binding.
Step 4 Run:
mpls te commit
The configuration takes effect.

1.7.3 Binding the Tunnel Policy to a VPN

Context
Do as follows on the PEs configured with VCs.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
tunnel-policy policy-name
The tunnel policy is created.
Step 3 Run:
tunnel binding destination destination-address te tunnel interface-number [ down-
switch ]
The destination IP address is bound to the tunnel policy. The VPN data from the local device to
the destination address is then transmitted over the bound tunnel.

If you run the tunnel select-seq command to set the priority and number of tunnels in load
balancing, the tunnel binding command cannot run on the tunnel. If the tunnel binding
command is used, the tunnel select-seq command cannot run.
A destination IP address on the PE can be bound to only one tunnel. If you bind the destination
IP address to multiple tunnels, the later tunnel overwrites the previous one.
If the PE has multiple peers, a tunnel policy can be configured with multiple tunnel
binding commands with different destination IP addresses.
