5.6.6 Steering cylinder

To remove the power steering
1. Remove the cutting deck.
2. Loosen the steering cables rear mount.
3. Remove the steering wheel and the steering rod
by loosening the locknut and unscrewing the stop
screw. Lift the steering wheel and steering rod
upwards.
4. Remove the 2 screws on the cover and lift it up.
Disconnect the cables from the lamp.
5. Remove the circlip and the bearings on top of the
power steering.
6. Loosen the hydraulic hoses from the power
steering.
7. Remove the screws that hold the power steering
bracket in the power steering housing.
8. Pull the power steering upwards and move the
lower section rearwards in order to force the
steering chain.
To fit the power steering
1. To fit the power steering, follow the instruction in
opposite sequence. Ensure that the steering
wheel is in the centre position when the rear
wheels are centered. Re-set the chain on the
power steering sprocket or adjust the rear fixture
for the steering cables if needed.
2. Bleed the hydraulic system for existing air.
