A04. DOOR LOCK SYSTEM AND
ILLUMINATED ENTRY SYSTEM
a) Check that all doors open and close
smoothly using the interior and exterior
door handles.
b) Check that the doors cannot be opened
by using the interior and exterior door
handles when the lock button is in the
locked position (except front interior
handles).
c) Check that the front doors can be
opened by using the interior door
handles when the lock button is in the
locked position (front interior doors).
d) Check exterior key lock control system
operation with driver's door.
(two-step unlock function):
1. Turn the key once to unlock the
driver's door.
2. Turn the key twice to unlock all the
doors.
e) Check the illuminated entry system
operation. The following lights will
illuminate when the door is opened:
D Steering spot light
Seat spot lights
D
(with the interior light in "DOOR"
position)
Selector spot lights
D
Inside door handle lights
D
Door courtesy lights
D
D Foot lights
Outer scuff lights.
D
Personal lights
D
f) Check the operation of the window and
sliding roof* from outside the vehicle:
To close the window and sliding
D
roof, insert the mechanical key into
the door key cylinder and turn it in
the locking direction.
To open the window and sliding
D
roof, turn the mechanical key in the
unlocking direction.
HINT:
The mechanical key must be held in the
lock or unlock direction for the window
and sliding roof to close or open.
