For Windows 2000/NT/Me/XP models

Insert the cleaning floppy into the floppy disk drive.

Run the disk access command such as dir at the command prompt (Windows 2000/
NT) or MS-DOS prompt (Windows Me).
Example: Enter the following and press [Enter].
dir a:

Make sure the floppy disk access lamp is off, and remove the cleaning floppy.
