Operating the Tape Deck Using OSD

Press REC.
The r (REC) and P (pause) indicators light up
and the deck stands by for recording.
The direction indicators (9 or () light to
indicate which sides of the cassette you can use to
record. (For a full explanation of the 9 and (
indicators, see "What the 9 and ( indicators
indicate" on page 50.)
If you want to record on the reverse side only
Press 9 so the 9 indicator lights steadily.

Press P, to release the record pause and start
recording.

Press DISC 1 ~ 7 to start playback from the
beginning of the CD you want to record.
To stop recording
Press STOP p twice. Once to stop the tape deck and once to
stop the CD player.
To insert a blank space
See "Inserting a blank space during recording using the
controls on the speaker" on page 57.
What the 9 and ( indicators indicate
The 9 and ( indicators light to indicate which side starts
recording. They also tell you if a tab has been removed.
• If one indicator lights steadily and the other indicator
flashes for a few seconds, then disappears:
It means that recording will start from the side whose
indicator lights steadily. If you want to start recording
from the other side, press the button for that side.
• If one indicator lights steadily and the other indicator
neither lights or flashes:
It means you can only record on the side whose indicator
lights steadily. (The tab for the other side has been
removed.)
• If one indicator flashes steadily and the other indicator
neither lights or flashes:
It means that record on the side whose indicator is
flashing steadily. Switch the side, from which to start
recording, by pressing the direction button for the side
whose indicator is flashing.
• If both indicators neither light or flash:
It means that you cannot record on this cassette. (Both tabs
have been removed.)
Note
Adjusting the volume will not effect the recording level.
But this will change the sound levels you hear through the
speakers or headphones.

You can have the CD player select and indicate the
most suitable tape length for recording each disc
automatically.

Click FUNCTION in the main menu.

Click CD.

Click SUB.

Select the CONTINUE play mode.

Since playback starts automatically, click p to
stop playback.
Tape select edit cannot be used during playback.

Click CONTINUE repeatedly to select
"PROGRAM".

Click PRG EDIT.
The PROGRAM EDIT menu appears.

Click TAPE SELECT EDIT.

The TAPE SELECT menu appears and the player
automatically divides the tracks and displays the
tape length required to record the entire CD.
