Selecting the sound field

the sound field you want.

These sound fields can be selected during
DVD function except when:
— the system is in standby for recording or
recording.
— Game Mixing is activated.
— Key Control is activated.
— Karaoke mode is used.
— a microphone is connected.
SBS MULTI (Sound Broadcasting System
Multi mode): Performs suitable decoding based
on the source to maximize the sound field
effect. This mode lets you enjoy audio
playback of all types of discs from multiple
speakers.

A.F.D. AUTO: Auto Format Decoding
(A.F.D.). The number of sound channels is
depends on the source, which is recorded on
the discs. Playback of 2 channels source such
as audio CD, VIDEO CD and MP3 audio
tracks would only produce 2 sound channels
where as the number of sound channels during
DVD's playback is depend on audio format
selection. This setting is ideal when you want
to listen to the original sound from the source.
PRO LOGIC: Performs Pro Logic decoding.
The source recorded in 2 channels is decoded
into 4.1 channels.
PLII MOVIE: Performs Pro Logic II Movie
mode decoding. This setting is ideal for movie
encoded in Dolby Surround. In addition, this
mode can reproduce 5.1 channels sound when
watching videos of overdubbed or old movies.
PLII MUSIC: Performs Pro Logic II Music
mode decoding. This setting is ideal for normal
stereo sources such as CDs.
LINK: Reproduces the surround sound
channels from the front sound channels output
with different output levels.
LINK SURR: Reproduces the surround sound
channels from the front sound channels output
with different output levels.
2CH STEREO: Reproduces stereo output from
multi channel source playback such as DVDs.
You should select this mode or 2CH SURR
when only front speakers are connected.
2CH SURR: Reproduces stereo output from
multi channel source playback such as DVDs
with surround effect.
HP 2CH: The normal sound field of
headphone.
HP SURR: The headphone sound field with
surround effect.
HP VIRTUAL: The headphone sound field
with virtual surround effect.
