You can access and change these settings quickly and easily using the Shortcuts.     Saving files to print at a remote location If you do not have a GA-1120 onsite, and are preparing files to take to a service bureau or other location, print the final files to the File port (as opposed to one of the local ports).

    2-1 Printing from applications You can print to the GA-1120 just as you would print to any other printer from any Chapter 2: application. First, select the GA-1120 as the current printer in the Chooser, and then Printing print the file from within the application.

Jobs printed to the Chapter 3: GA-1120 are sent to the Print or Hold queue and can be manipulated from Command Printing WorkStation or from Windows and Mac OS computers on the network using from UNIX Fiery WebSpooler or Fiery Spooler.

    Before downloading a file that uses fonts not resident on the GA-1120, you must download the fonts (unless the fonts are embedded in the file). To see what fonts are resident on the GA-1120, choose Font List from the File menu or click the Font List button (see page 4-11).

    Fiery Scan uses a scan to hard disk drive (HDD) feature that allows you to use the GA-1120 Control Panel to scan an image from the copier glass (platen) or document feeder (DF) into GA-1120 memory. You can then open the image with Fiery Remote Scan or the WebScan WebTool.

    Fiery WebTools reside on the GA-1120’s hard disk drive, but can be accessed over the network from a variety of platforms. The GA-1120 has a home page that allows you to view server functions and manipulate jobs remotely. This chapter describes only the Status and WebLink WebTools.

To print using the Fiery E-mail Port Monitor, you must print to a printer that is connected to the Fiery E-mail Port Monitor.

    You can submit print jobs to the GA-1120 in the form of an e-mail attachment using your e-mail application. When you send an e-mail with an attachment, E-mail Service extracts the file and sends it to the GA-1120 Print queue. The file format must be one supported by the GA-1120.

For example, if a user sends a job with a scaling value of 50% and the operator specifies a Scale override of 200%, the job is printed at 100% of the original document size, that is, 50% of 200%.

To enable the Stapler Mode option, Sorter Mode must be set to Sort. —Disables the stapler. —The job is stapled with one staple along one corner of the page edge that last Corner exits the copier.
