The set time interval is also used by
Adaptive Cruise Control and Pilot Assist*.

Only use a time interval that is suitable in
current traffic conditions.
A short time interval gives the driver lim-
ited reaction time if an unexpected situa-
tion occurs in traffic.
Choosing how ACC maintains the time
interval to the vehicle ahead*
The driver can select different drive modes to
determine the way in which ACC tries to maintain
the set time interval to the vehicle ahead. This

setting is made using the DRIVE MODE control
on the tunnel console.
Select one of the following:
Eco
: ACC focuses on optimal fuel economy,
which may result in a longer time interval to
the vehicle ahead.
Comfort
: ACC focuses on maintaining the
set time interval to the vehicle ahead as
smoothly as possible.
Dynamic
: ACC focuses on maintaining the
set time interval to the vehicle ahead as pre-
cisely as possible, which can result in faster
acceleration and more immediate braking.

Deactivating/resuming Adaptive

ACC can be put temporarily in standby mode
and then reactivated.
Function buttons and symbols
To temporarily deactivate and put Adaptive Cruise
Control in standby mode:
Press the
button (2).
> The
symbol in the instrument panel
will change colors from WHITE to GRAY
and the set speed in the center of the
speedometer will change from BEIGE to
GRAY.
