Connecting the
Computer and Machine
The machine can be connected to your
computer using either of the following
methods:

USB cable connection

Wired network connection

USB Cable Connection
Before connecting the machine to the
computer, install the printer driver.
a
Before connecting the USB cable, make
sure that the machine is turned off.

Plug the USB cable into the USB port on
the back of the machine.

Plug the other end of the USB cable into
the USB port on the computer.

Turn on the machine.
Wired Network Connection

In order for the machine to use a static
IP address to communicate through a
wired network connection, the printer
driver and the "Printer Setting Tool"
must first be installed, and the wired
network connection settings must be
specified.

Before connecting the network cable,
make sure that the machine is turned

off.

Plug the network cable into the Ethernet
network port on the back of the machine,
and then turn on the machine.
NOTE
For Windows
• The machine's communication
settings can be changed with
[Communication settings] of the
"Printer Setting Tool". For details, see
Communication Settings for Windows
on page 37.
• By using the "Printer Setting Tool",
the communication settings can be
changed and easily applied to multiple
machines. For details, see Applying
Setting Changes to Multiple Tape
Creators on page 40.
