Clear ice and snow from the outside of the
windshield. Reduced visibility can otherwise
endanger you, your passengers and others.

The windshield defroster has a high
current draw. For this reason, it should
be switched off as soon as the wind-
shield is clear.
The windshield defroster heating time
is variable and is controlled according
to the speed at which the vehicle is be-
ing driven. The window defroster turns
off automatically after the heating time
has elapsed.
The windshield defroster will switch off
automatically no later than within
11 minutes.

1 Windshield defroster on/off switch
Make sure that the ignition is switched
on.
Press button 1.
The indicator lamp in the switch lights
up when the windshield defroster is
switched on.

If a number of electrical consumers are
switched on or if the battery is insuffi-
ciently charged, the windshield defrost-
er may switch off earlier. In this case,
the indicator lamp will flash.
As soon as sufficient voltage is avail-
able again, the windshield defroster will
automatically switch back on.

Due to the thicker windshield, the vehi-
cle is not equipped with a rain sensor.
When intermittent wipe is selected, the
windshield is wiped at a fixed interval.
