This chapter supplements the "Locking
and unlocking" chapter in the vehicle Op-
erator's Manual.
The doors are not automatically unlocked
in the event of an accident.

Mercedes-Benz recommends deposit-
ing the second key or the spare key in
an accompanying vehicle. After an ac-
cident, unlocking the vehicle from the
outside is only possible by using the
mechanical key element.
The automatic emergency unlocking
function can be reprogrammed to be
operational by an authorized
Mercedes-Benz Center.

Opening doors

The doors should only be opened when
the vehicle is stationary.
The doors are power-assisted to aid
you in opening them. To prevent dam-
age to the doors or to other vehicles,
make sure that there is sufficient clear-
ance next to the vehicle when opening
a door or hold onto the doors tightly
while opening.

Rear compartment, override switch

This function is only available in con-
junction with the rear side power win-
dows.

Summer opening/convenience closing

Your vehicle is not equipped with sum-
mer opening/convenience closing fea-
tures.
