MP3/WMA mode
FAT32 fi le system and contain MP3 or WMA
fi les.
You can created up to 1,500 fi les on a USB
data carrier (directories and tracks). The
directories and tracks can be selected in-
dividually with this device. If you use fi le
names with more than 24 characters (in-
cluding ".MP3" or ".WMA"), this maximum
number of fi les is reduced.
Blaupunkt cannot guarantee the proper
functioning of all USB data carriers avail-
able on the market.
ID3 tags
MP3 tracks can contain additional infor-
mation such as the artist, album and track
name (ID3 tags). This device can display
ID3 tags of version 1 and 2.

Switching to MP3 mode

Activating the MP3 mode of CD
For an MP3 CD, the MP3 mode is activated
in the same way as the normal CD mode.
For further information, please read the
section entitled "Starting the CD mode" in
the "CD mode" chapter.
The display 6 shows the number of the
current track (e.g. "T12") and the playing
time as well as track information (ID3 tags)
or the fi le name. When changing to another
directory, the directory number (e.g. "DIR
02") is briefl y displayed.
Connect USB data carrier and start MP3
mode
To be able to connect a USB data carrier
(e.g. a USB stick or USB hard disk), the
optional Blaupunkt USB interface must be
connected to the rear side of the device

(chamber C3). You can route the USB ca-
ble of the interface, e.g. into the glove com-
partment or to a suitable place of the centre
console.
Notes:
If you connect the Blaupunkt USB in-
terface to the device, the AUX input
must be adjusted accordingly. For
further details, please read the sec-
tion "Adjusting the AUX input" in the
chapter "External audio sources".
Always switch off the device before
connecting or disconnecting the USB
data carrier so that the data carrier
is correctly registered and unregis-
tered.

Connect the USB device with the USB
cable of the USB interface.
As soon as a USB data carrier is connected,
it can be selected with the SRC button >.
The display shows "USB".
Display of track information
(ID3 tags)
If the MP3 data carrier provides ID3 tags,
the information for every track is shown
once on the display 6 as scrolling text at
the start of the track. If no ID3 tags were
stored with the MP3 fi les, the fi le name is
displayed.

For storing ID3 tags, please also read
the instructions for your PC MP3 soft-
ware or burner software.
