Check the condition of the motorcycle
to help make sure that you do not
have mechanical problems or get
stranded somewhere when you ride.
Before riding the motorcycle, be sure
to check the following items. Be sure
your motorcycle is in good condition
for the personal safety of the rider,
passenger and protection of the
motorcycle.
! WARNING
Checking
maintenance
when the engine is running can be
hazardous. You could be severely
injured if your hands or clothing
get caught in moving engine
parts.
Shut the engine off when perform-
ing maintenance checks, except
when checking the lights, engine
stop switch, and throttle.

Steering
• Smoothness
• No restriction of movement
• No play or looseness
Throttle
• Correct play in the throttle

• Smooth operation and
positive return of
the throttle grip to the
closed position
Clutch
• Correct play in the cable

clutch lever
Brakes
• Proper pedal and lever

to be above "LOWER" line
