4.2. Power and Start-up
4.2.1. Power Supply Voltages
The DDP2000 TI reference design requires the following voltages and currents to be available:
Table 1. Power Requirements
Voltage Tolerance Current (min)
+12 VDC +/- 0.6 V 1.5 A (includes fan power)
+5 VDC +/- 0.25 V 1.5 A
+3.3 VDC +/- 0.165 V 3.0 A
4.2.2. On board voltage regulators
In order to make use of existing and standard power supplies, TI has chosen to generate the
following voltages in the reference design. For production implementations, OEMs may chose
to create these voltages as part of the power supply. Doing so will result in a requirement for
5V current and 3.3V current which is less that that shown above.
Table 2. Voltage Regulators on the
TI Reference Design
+2.5 VDC +/- 0.125 V 1.0 A
+1.8 VDC +/- 0.09 V 1.0 A
+1.5 VDC +/- 0.075 V 1.0 A
4.2.3. Power-up Sequence
All of the power supplies should be applied or removed simultaneously.
4.2.4. Recommended Operation Conditions
Signals which interface directly to the DDP2000 ASIC shall comply with the following
requirements: Please see the DDP2000 ASIC data sheet for a complete description of
requirements.
