Adjustments
Shutthe engine off, removethe ignitionkeyandengagethe parking brake
beforemaking adjustments.Protectyour handsby usingheavy gloves
when handlingthe blades.
Adjusting RH& LHDrive ControlLevers
TheRHandLHdrivecontrollevers canbeadjustedupor downandforwardor
backward forthe comfortof the operator. T hedrivecontrollevers canbeplacedin
eitheroftwo heightpositions, a nd/orcanbemoved forwardor rearwardwithinthe
rangeof the slotineachlowerarm.
Toadjustthe drivecontrolleverheight,proceed asfollows:
1.
Remove t he upperhexscrew andfiat washer securing the leverto the pivot
bracket.
2.
Whilesupportingthe controlleverto keepit fromfalling, remove the hex
screw andflat washer from the bottomof the controlleverandlowerarm.

Reposition t he controlleverto alignwith the othersetof holesinthe lower
armandinsertthe hexscrewthroughthe flat washer andinto the lower
arm.Tighten the hexscrewuntilsnug.

Insertthe hexscrew throughthe flat washerandthroughthe controllever
slotandthe lowerarm.Donot tightennow.
5.
If youaregoingto adjustthe controllevers forwardor rearward, p roceed to
the nextstep.If not,fullytighten the hexscrew.
Toadjustthe drivecontrollevers forward/rearward, p roceed asfollows:

If not already loose,loosenthe hexscrew androtatethe control l evereither
forwardor rearwardto the desiredposition. S eeFigure 28.
NOTE: Ifthe controlleveristoo tight to move, s lightlyloosenthe hexscrew
at the bottomof the controllever.

Tighten the hexscrew to fix the control l everinthe adjustedposition
Repeat t he above procedure to adjusttheothercontrol l everinto the same
position. A djustsothat bothleversareevenwith eachotherwhen inthe
neutralposition.

NOTE: Check thetractor's t irepressure before performing any deck leveling
adjustments. Refer toTires forinformation r egarding tirepressure.

Leveling
the Deck (Side-to-Side)
NOTE: Check t hetractor's tirepressure b efore performing anydeck leveling adjustments.
Refer toTires forinformation regarding t irepressure. Always l evel t hedeck side-to-side
before frontto rear.
Ifthe cuttingdeckappears to be mowingunevenly, aside-to-side adjustment c an
be performed. A djustif necessary a sfollows:
1.
Withthetractor parked onafirm,level s urface, place thedeck lift handle in
amiddlemowingposition androtate bothoutside blades s othattheyare
perpendicular withthetractor.
2.
Measure t he distance fromtheoutside ofthe left bladetip tothe ground
andthe distance f romthe outside ofthe rightbladetip tothe ground. B oth
measurements takenshouldbeequal. I fthey'renot,proceed t o thenextstep.

Loosen the lowerjam nut on the adjustable lift link attached to the decklift
armto lowerthe deckandtighten the upperjam nut to secure the deckin
place, l oosenthe upperjam nut thentightenthe lowerjam nut to secure the
deckin place. S eeFigure 29.

Thedeckis properly leveledwhenbothbladetip measurements areequal.
Leveling
the Deck (Front-To-Rear)
NOTE: Check the tractor'stire pressure beforeperforminganydeckleveling
adjustments. R efer t o Tiresforinformationregarding tire pressure. Always levelthe
deckside-to-side beforefront to rear.
Thefront of the deckshouldbe between1/4-W' l owerthanthe rearofthe deck.
Adjustif necessary asfollows:
1.
Park the tractoron afirm, levelsurface andplacethe decklift handlein a
middleposition.
2.
Rotate the bladenearest t he discharge c hutesothat it isparallelwith the
tractor.
